From Sea to Table

One of the best things about boating is enjoying the coastal lifestyle--and what comes with that lifestyle is fresh, local seafood! Whether you catch it yourself, buy at your fish or farmers market, or go out to dine on seafood before, during or after your boating excursions, enjoying the cuisine of the sea is definitely one of the best reasons to go boating. To celebrate that tradition, each year the Providence Boat Show features Sea-to-Table Special Events that run throughout the show. Here are just some of the highlights…

Friday & Saturday: Oceans 97 Shrimp with Jarvis Green
Jarvis Green, former New England Patriots defensive end and a two-time Super Bowl champion will be serving up his Oceans 97 Shrimp at the “Sea to Table” Demonstrations at the Providence Boat Show on Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Oyster Shucking Master Class
Join the Bristol Oyster Bar and Flint & Flame for an Oyster Shucking Master Class on Friday or Sunday. This Bristol restaurant’s owner Peter Sebring has cultivated his vision for this eatery since he was 14 years old and has spent most of his time since then on the water--fishing and raising oysters.

Saturday & Sunday: Tuna Fillet Demo & Tasting with Chef James Barrett
On Saturday, Hotel Viking's One Bellevue Restaurant Chef James Barrett makes a special appearance for a Tuna Fillet Demo & Tasting at the Anchor Bar. Barrett's honors and awards include Chef of the Year, Davidson Hotels, 2010; F&B Team of the Year, Davidson Hotels, 2011; and Annapolis’ Most Passionate Chef, 2011 and continues to innovate fresh, new flavors from the sea and land alongside his award winning culinary team at One Bellevue.
