Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, a Rhode Island-based maritime-training facility that works with all levels of mariners, joins the Providence Boat Show this year with a brand-new lineup of seminars. In these sessions with their experienced captains, you will pick up a wide range of valuable information—from learning about the best anchorages in Rhode Island waters, to the Rules of the Road, to how to get your kids on the water. And if you’re new to boating, you will even learn about the different paths you can take to becoming an Ocean State boater and enjoying your leisure time on the water. Confident Captain instructors are respected professionals who come from a variety of maritime backgrounds—so let their real-world experience translate into a great learning opportunity at the Providence Boat Show.

Towing & Salvage

This informative session with Captain Phil LeBlanc of Safe/Sea Marine Rescue will give you insights into the types of mishaps we all read about in the boating magazines—from sinking boats miles offshore to grounded vessels in hurricanes. Learn how to keep yourself off of Captain Phil’s towline.

How to Become a Rhode Island Boater

Become an Ocean State boater and go from the Lazy-Boy to a day on the bay in this fun and engaging seminar. Our professional captains will recommend one of many available boating programs for ownership, rental, or club membership that will best suit your lifestyle, needs, and budget. We’ll also cover boating logistics and seamanship topics for beginning boaters.

Get Your Kids on the Water!

Make sure your kids grow to love boating in a safe and stress-free way. Bring the whole family to this seminar learn about boating opportunities around the state for families and kids. Our captains will go over basic safety, kid-friendly navigation, and rules and regulations that all families need to know about. Learn where to get your kids involved in boating this upcoming season.

Whether you are new to boating or a regular weekend warrior, being familiar with the Rules of the Road is essential to staying safe. Join us for this informative seminar to learn about the US Coast Guard Rules of the Road and how they apply to you as a recreational boater.
